  Extract from The Police Review SADDLER A BERRETT R.F.A. Oldham Borough Police This Officer died in the 57th Casualty Clearing Station, France, on November 25th 1918 from influenza and pneumonia. He joined up voluntarily in May 1915, and went to France the following December. He was wounded and returned to France in December 1917. He is brother to Inspector H R Berrett, of Gt. Grimsby, who recently transferred from Oldham on his appointment as Inspector of Police and Weights and Measures. His father was Sergeant J R Berrett, of the Metropolitan Police, and he also had uncles in the same Force.
