  Joseph Fishbourne appears in Alumni Dublinensis as entering Trinity College Dublin on November 2 1818, aged 15, son of Robert, Agricola (!), born Carlow. At his marriage in 1825, Joseph is described as "Of Straw Hill", however there is a deed (570765) dated January 1830 which refers to Joseph Fishbourne as "Of Moorefield in the Queens County". As his father Robert Moore Fishbourne had died in 1828 and Joseph was the second son, it is logical that William, the elder brother, inherited Hollymount and Joseph went to Moorefield. . This suggests that the entry in the subscribers' list in Lewis' Topographical Dictionary of Ireland 1837, may be for Joseph,(Jos) and not for a James (Jas) as printed. There is no other trace of a James in this family. On 19 November 1850 Joseph took a lease for 31 years from 1 November, of the house and demesne of Ashfield Hall (Encumbered Estates, lands of Peter Gale Esq. Co. Leix) A reference listing landowners in 1876 (detailed ref. not known) gives the following: Joseph Fishbourne Ashfield Hall, Co. Carlow,( near Queens) William Fishbourne Fonthill, Co.
