  Cattermole, George Christopher. 1514 Private, 7th Fusiliers b. 1 Nov 1856 Camden Town, Middlesex d. 11 Jul 1925 West Croydon, Surrey Medal roll: Kandahar. Notes: After 40 years in India returned home to England in 1926 but found the severe winter conditions overwhelming. While making arrangements to return to India (with money raised by his children), he died. Photo shows miniatures for Afghan war medal with 4 clasps and the Kandahar Star, medal roll mentions only Kandahar bar which would be right for regiment. Also Jubilee medal (1897) and two others (ID required). Family: Parents: Jonathan Christopher Cattermole (railway porter) and Caroline Elizabeth Jones. Married Gertrude Elizabeth Forde (m.1885 Bangalore, school teacher). Children: John, Ann, Rebecca, Louisa, Rose, Mabel, George, Joseph and Marie.
