  	When Sir George made his will in 1640 he stated that he wished to be buried in the St John family vault at St Mary’s alongside his wife. He died in December 1643 and his helmet with the oak tree crest is mounted high in the roof of the south chapel, the only remaining piece of his armour, probably brought into church on the occasion of his funeral.
