  Peterborough Standard published 14 March 1885 Paraphrasing - [River] Nene at the bathing-place near Wellingborough. There was a suicide on Sunday. On Monday morning Inspector Phenix and Police constable Williams went to drag for the body. They found two. "John Vorley, a shoe-upper closer, of Mill road who had been missing since the 25 ult." Both bodies moved to the Dog and Duck inn for an inquest on Monday evening. "The body of Vorley was much decomposed from its long immersion." "Wellingborough. The funeral of John W. Vorley took place on Wednesday at the cemetery. There was a large attendance to witness the sad ceremony." Northampton Mercury publishing on 14 March 1885 on page 8.
