• Notes

  John and Margery Dutton are listed on the 1891 census as William's son and daughter, but their ages of 23 and 21 mean they were born several years before William and Minnie's marriage and when William was only a children himself! Strangely, they are also both listed at the bottom of the census return, below the three domestic servants. Were they adopted? I can't find any birth or baptismal records that seem to fit.
