  Elizabeth and her husband Richard were both mentioned in her father's will. This is the last Will and Testament of me Elizabeth Holliday of Bampton in the County of Oxford Widow made this thirtieth day of November One thousand eight hundred and fifty eight as follows In the first place I direct all my just debts funeral and testamentary expences to be fully paid and discharged by my Executor hereinafter named I give and bequeath unto my son Joseph my Clock and case by his paying to my Executor the sum of Thirty shillings to form part of my residuary estate I give unto my grandson John son of my said son Joseph my Bible in two large volumes by Matthew Henry I give unto my Son Thomas my Pilgrim's Progress All the rest and residue of my printed books I give and bequeath unto my Son William I give all my plate and my silver framed spectacles unto my Son John as a recompence for his journey to Bampton and attending to my funeral and as to all my wearing apparel I give the same to my said Son John Upon trust to divide the same equally between my two daughters Elizabeth Pettyfer and Mrs Angell as to all my household furniture goods chattels and effects not before disposed of I give the same to my Son John Holliday Upon trust to sell the same and to retain to himself Ten pounds and then to divide the residue together with my residuary property unto and equally between all my children including himself share and share alike I appoint my said Son John sole Executor of this my Will In witness whereof I the said Elizabeth Holliday the Testatrix have hereunto set my hand the day and year first above written - Elizabeth Holliday Signed by the said Testatrix as and for her last will and Testament in the joint presence of us present at the same time who at her request in her presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses - William Angell Smith, Draper, Bampton, Oxfordshire - James Dutton, Grocer, Bampton, Oxon =================================== I Elizabeth Holliday adds this first Codicil to my last Will and I date the said Codicil this twenty eight day January One thousand eight hundred and fifty nine The Ten pounds as reserved to my son JohnHolliday as named in my last Will I now appoint that the said Ten pounds be made use of to defray in whole or part of my funeral and testamentary expenses and also my plate or the value of the same I appoint to be equally divided amongst all my children Elizabeth Holliday - Signed by the said Mrs Elizabeth Holliday as and for the last Codicil to her last Will in the joint presence of us present at the same time who at her request in her presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses James Jerkins?, Innkeeper, Bampton, Oxfordshire - James Dutton, Grocer, Bampton Oxon.
